  • "Witness for the Prosecution" is the name of a short story and subsequent play by Agatha Christie, wherein a man is accused of killing his mistress for money. His wife appears as a witness for the prosecution, providing proof of his crime, but later she throws the trial into doubt by allowing some of her evidence to be proved false.
