  • Castle and Beckett attend an auction of a storage unit, the likes of which are chronicled in the TV series Storage Wars. The show follows the same five people as they bid for and sort through the contents of storage units in Nevada and California; the show has also spun off a Texas version. There is also a similar series called Auction Hunters.
  • The Wonder Twins (Zan and Jayna) are originally brother/sister twin comic book superheroes created by DC Comics. They also appeared in Super Friends, an animated TV series that ran on ABC from 1973 to 1986, about a team of superheroes which included other various DC characters. In an odd parallel, in the Super Friends episode "Injustice for All", statues of the Wonder Twins are smashed, just like the Gemini figurines in this episode.
  • Treasure Island is a 19th century novel by Robert Louis Stevenson that standardized popular perceptions of pirate culture, including pirates with parrots, x marks the spot maps, and buried treasure.
  • Indiana Jones is the protagonist of the movie series of the same name, played by Harrison Ford. To date there are four movies, all dealing with Indiana Jones and his various archaeological adventures.
  • Richard Kimble is the title character of the 1993 American drama film The Fugitive starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, based on the television series of the same title which ran from 1963 to 1967. The story follows Kimble as he tries to prove his innocence in the death of his wife, instead trying to prove the one-armed man that robbed his house was the man that murdered his wife.

  • Alexis moves out.
  • Both Martha and Alexis know about Castle and Beckett.
  • Beckett promising Big Percy a name in Castle's next novel.
  • The boys' reaction to Beckett's accidental innuendo.

  • BECKETT: What are you doing with two grand in your pocket?
CASTLE: I'm a best-selling author. Why wouldn't I have two grand in my pocket?

  • CASTLE: Best handshake ever.
  • ALEXIS: How can you be so smart and so clueless at the same time?
    CASTLE: Practice?

  • Gates is a secret doll collector. Whodathunkit.
  • According to the check written for Big Percy, Richard Castle lives at 595 Broome St, NYC 10013. Google (un)helpfully maps this as the Holland Tunnel. Broome St also puts Castle in SoHo, rather than Tribeca. The bank it's drawn on is First Unity Trust (in Cops & Robbers he also had accounts at New Amsterdam Bank & Trust).
  • Technically not an oops, but Castle smashing one doll after another is pretty bloody funny, even if it is both unnecessary and totally predictable.
