  • Forbidden Planet is a 1956 sci -fi movie starring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis and Leslie Nielsen. Its plot is loosely based on Shakespeare's The Tempest.
  • John Grisham is an American author who writes legal thrillers.
  • Ryan's Shakespeare quote is from Julius Caesar.

  • The Zapruder film is a 8mm home movie taken by Abraham Zapruder that recorded the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. As one of the better sources of images of the event, its authenticity and meaning have been long debated.

    Dustjackets: A Castle Wiki
  • CASTLE (on phone): For Richard Castle, press one.
  • CASTLE: Looks like he makes a killer cup of joe. Too soon?
  • RYAN: What, I'm not allowed to reference the Bard? I'm a Renaissance man.
ESPOSITO: Memorizing one quote does not make you a Renaissance man.
RYAN: What if I memorized two?
  • JENKINS: I did it, I did it, I did it.
    CASTLE: You killed him?
JENKINS: Oh my God, no, of course not! Why would you think that?
  • MONTGOMERY: In all the years I've been in charge of the twelfth precinct you know how many times the District Attorney has shown up? Once. Today.
  • KARNACKI: Yeah, well, that's the problem with you cops, you live on the corner of black and white. But over here on this side of the street, it's just grey.

  • Beckett and Castle are both fans of Forbidden Planet; Castle believes Leslie Nielsen to be a 'comic genius'.
  • Ryan only knows one Shakespeare quote.
  • According to WriteRCastle's twitter account, Beckett bought Castle (unspecified) candy and bought Junior Mints and popcorn with extra butter for herself.
  • Alexis' tell is a crinkled nose, Castle's is a nose twitch.
  • Castle gets so suspicious when Alexis lies about where she's going to be that he uses a GPS tracking app to track the location of her phone. Needless to say she is very upset when she finds out.
  • It turns out that Alexis went to Williamsburg to pay for some stuff that her friends stole.
