  • When Beckett calls Castle for help.
  • Castle profiling Jerry Tyson and vice versa.
  • Castle and Beckett sitting next to each other knowing they failed.
  • MONTGOMERY: Feds say he's a white male 25 to 45 years old.
CASTLE: (whispers to Beckett) It could be me.
MONTGOMERY: With a dysfunctional relationship with his mother.
    CASTLE: Still me.
MONTGOMERY: He has a menial, unimportant job.
    BECKETT: Definitely you.
CASTLE: Just for that I'm basing my next book on Esposito.
  • CASTLE: How did you know to come here?
BECKETT: Your mom called; she said that you told her you loved her and she figured that something must be terribly wrong.

  • LANIE: That was quick.
    CASTLE: 911 has that effect...
  • LANIE: I pulled all the files on all his past murders, just like you asked.
CASTLE: I--I believe that was my idea.
LANIE: Yeah, but I only listen when it comes from her.
  • CASTLE: Oh!
    BECKETT: What?
CASTLE: Found a penny. Under the circumstances, is this still lucky?
  • CASTLE: (reading Beckett's note) Jelly Tyson?
    BECKETT: It's Jerry.
  • CASTLE: (fixing Beckett's writing) Now it's Jerry.
  • CASTLE: You heard the man! Hands in the air and get on your knees while you're at it!
  • CASTLE: (hitting the table/Esposito's hand in excitement) That's sweat! That's sweat--Sweaty von Sweats-a-lot!
Go here to discuss the spec
  • The Triple Killer's first appearance was four years ago. According to the transcript Beckett has, a call on May 21, 2006 was a week after the 6th murder, so the 1st set of killings were April 23-29, 2006 and May 7-13, 2006.
  • Castle researched the Triple Killer for his book When It Comes to Slaughter, so that book was written somewhere between 2007 and 2009, when Storm Fall was published.
  • 3XK is next mentioned in season 4, episode 4, "Kick the Ballistics", when the gun he stole from Ryan is used in a murder.
  • Not exactly an oops, but in 2x05, Castle says that Sheri Ort "broke [his] heart; stole [his] lunch money." When Montgomery is profiling 3XK, you can see that one of the women is named "Sheri Ort." Creepy...
  • When Beckett is giving the profile of Gates, she says that he is 5 ft and 180 lbs. On the close up of his mug shot, his vitals are posted next to it and it says that he is 6'2" and 195 lbs.
